Kandi Steiner has such a fun writing style! This is my second book of hers, and I'm convinced she writes spice like no other. Let's just say this is not the audiobook that you want to accidentally hit play while your car window is open in the drive through. Not that it happened to me... Nope 😳

The premise of this second-chance romance really drew me in and it definitely delivered on ALLLLL the drama that shows up when the love interest is the main character's best friend's brother. I had fun with the way this trope was executed differently than other BFB romances I've read. Make Me Hate you was a great palette cleanser after reading a few heavier historical fiction novels.

That said, this was not my favorite. As the main reason is a spoiler, I will intentionally be vague, but I will say that one of the climactic moments (pun intended?) was a trope that isn't my favorite. It's one I like sometimes, but I didn't enjoy it in this particular scenario, I'm not letting it stop me from adding Kandi Steiner's other books to my TBR.
