Seeing Penn Cole on her Cleveland, Ohio tour stop was incredible! Penn is such a bright light (no pun intended). Her passion for her books and their characters is infectious and she is so kind and relatable (hey, fellow millennial with a million different paths!). She's one of those authors that you could listen to all day long and I think those in attendance would agree, if the rapt silence during her conversation was any indication.
As someone who is notoriously good at, or maybe bad at, starting and ghosting series, The Kindred's Curse Saga is one that I am actually caught up on. I can't wait to find out how it concludes, although I am nervous because Penn definitely alluded to killing off more than a few characters. Even though I am not much of a re-reader, this is one that I almost feel like rereading because it's already been over a year since I read Heat.
The turnout of friends from the bookish community was top notch! My husband couldn't believe that little introverted me had close to 20 friends there! It's hard to believe that this time last year I was bemoaning my lack of friends who wanted to go to bookish events with me and now nearly always know someone. Take this as your sign to not let people make you feel weird about making friends on the internet, ok? (But, please, do be smart about it!)
Thank you for visiting us, Penn, and thank you to the Cuyahoga County Public Library for another amazing event!
