What an incredible story of women's strength, resilience, friendship and love!

This book takes such a different angle on the story of Titanic as it begins at the moment the ship makes contact with the iceberg. It focuses on two women from different classes, Marguerite and Bea, who survived the wreck along with a seemingly orphaned infant. Despite class differences and societal expectations, they come together and form the Survivor's Guild to aid survivors of the Titanic, especially their infant charge. Along the way, they learn the power of friendship as well as to challenge their deeply ingrained ideas of society and self. I found them both relatable in different ways and loved how they inspired and encouraged each other in the ways they needed it most. I cheered when they found comrades in unexpected places the more they pushed back against the status quo.

The Survivor's Guild is packed with adventure and emotion from start to finish that I believe even those who do not typically gravitate towards historical fiction will appreciate. Both Marguerite and Bea have incredible storylines and they are so beautifully woven together along with a colorful cast of side characters.

Saskia Maarleveld and Gail Shalan were fantastic choices for narrators. They embodied the characters perfectly and brought an extra dimension to the story that I really enjoyed.

I visited the Titanic Artifacts Exhibit just before I started reading. The tour was so interesting and helped to refresh my mind on the events, the timeline of events leading up to and after the tragedy and concluded with a display that detailed the survivors and victims that I found particularly impactful.
